Job Summary
Provide safe, continuous quality patient care across varying units within at least three facilities in a defined market. Deliver appropriate customer service and resolve conflicts using effective communication techniques. Interpret patient information to identify age-specific care requirements and modify treatment plans accordingly. Complete cardiac dysrhythmia testing or coursework within three months of hire, obtain NIH Stroke Scale certification upon hire, and finish required specialty-specific training such as CPI or fetal monitoring courses. Maintain current compact licensure and demonstrate competency in critical thinking and computer literacy.
Required Qualifications
- 2 Year / Associate Degree
- ADN
- Consecutive year within defined specialty (Med Surg, Tele, Critical Care, ED or Women's)
- Current compact licensure in appropriate state
- Appropriate customer service
- Effective and appropriate customer relations
- Verbal and non-verbal communication techniques
- Interpersonal relationship skills
- Conflict resolution
- Critical thinking
- Computer literacy
- Ability to successfully complete generic and department specific skills validation and competency testing
- Ability to interpret information and identify each patient's requirement for care relative to his/her age specific need
- Knowledge and skill necessary to modify care according to patient(s) age
- Successfully complete the Cardiac dysrhythmia test or Cardiac dysrhythmia course within 3 months of hire
- NIH Stroke Scale certification upon hire
- Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (CPI) certification for Emergency Services, Behavioral Health and Med Surg RNs
- Women's Services – Breastfeeding course
- Labor and Delivery, Antepartum RN —fetal monitoring course and breastfeeding course
