Regional Family Dispute Resolution Practitioner

Job Summary
Conduct family and property assessments, facilitate mediations, and support separating families to achieve child-focused parenting and property outcomes. Manage complex cases by assessing family violence, mental health, and substance use concerns while creating safe, culturally responsive environments. Build referral pathways and community partnerships to connect families with appropriate support services, maintaining accurate client records and documentation throughout. This role is part-time (3 days per week) in Burnie, Tasmania, with a salary packaging benefit package and four bonus leave days. Applicants must hold relevant tertiary qualifications and Family Dispute Resolution Practitioner registration, demonstrating experience with diverse backgrounds including CALD and Indigenous communities.
Required Qualifications
- Relevant tertiary qualifications
- Family Dispute Resolution Practitioner registration
- Experience in both Property and Family Dispute resolution
- Demonstrated experience and training in Family Dispute Resolution, including working with a child consultant
- Demonstrated experience and training in Property Dispute Resolution
- Comprehensive knowledge of the impact of family violence including the ability to identify and assess family violence and ensure client safety is a primary consideration in decision making
- Demonstrated conflict resolution skills
- Demonstrated professional computing, verbal communication and written documentation skills
- Proven ability to work within a team environment and network effectively, including resourcefulness and organisation skills
- Eligible to work in Australia
- Evidence of registration to Work with Vulnerable People
- Police Check
