Job Summary
Regional Environmental Manager responsible for leading environmental programs, regulatory compliance, and sustainability initiatives across BC operations, including development and governance of Environmental Management System tools, providing strategic environmental guidance to multiple sites, and representing the company in external industry forums. Requires senior-level leadership, deep experience managing environmental programs in an industrial setting, proficiency with EMS and regulatory frameworks, strong communication and cross-functional collaboration, and the ability to plan and drive short-to-long-term environmental performance improvements. Willingness to travel and lead a team of environmental resources across sites.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Science, Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Forestry or similar acumen
- 10 or more years of managing environmental programs in the industrial sector
- Experience working with Environmental Management Systems
- Familiarity with Environmental and Regulatory compliance audit frameworks and processes
- Knowledge of forestry or lumber &/or wood panel or similar heavy manufacturing operations is an asset
- Strong communication and facilitation skills
- Demonstrated ability to develop effective working relationships within operational and cross functional teams
- Demonstrated planning, organizing and creative problem-solving ability
- Demonstrated ability to be a strategic thinker, effectively managing multiple priorities and able to establish short, medium and long term plans that support enterprise goals and targets
- Effective team builder with proven leadership skills
- Professional integrity and willingness to learn
- Willingness to travel
