Job Summary
Lead process-improvement initiatives for gas filling, handling, and distribution to boost throughput, reduce cycle times, and minimize product loss. Manage projects from concept through commissioning, including defining scopes, budgets, timelines, and equipment modifications. Develop engineering designs and specifications, validate changes through calculations and simulations, and ensure compliance with safety standards and provincial/codes requirements. Champion Lean/Six Sigma/Kaizen methodologies, set KPIs, and report outcomes to leadership. Collaborate with plant operators, maintenance teams, and management to implement changes on the plant floor. Proficiency with AutoCAD (or similar CAD tools) and knowledge of fluid dynamics, thermodynamics, and piping systems are essential. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project-management capabilities are required, with a focus on safety and regulatory compliance.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering
- Registered as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) with APEGA and in good standing
- Minimum of 5 years of engineering experience in a process manufacturing, industrial plant, or production environment
- Direct experience in the compressed gas, cryogenics, chemical processing, or oil and gas industry is a strong asset
- Demonstrated success in leading process improvement projects with measurable results in efficiency, safety, or cost savings
- Strong knowledge of fluid dynamics, thermodynamics, pressure vessels, and piping systems
- Proficiency with engineering software such as AutoCAD or similar CAD programs
- Experience with process simulation software is a plus
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills
