REGIONAL ENERGY MANAGER

Job Summary
Regional Energy Manager responsible for securing and maintaining competitive energy and related supply and services procurement for Gerdau facilities within a designated geography. Develops procurement strategies, analyzes energy markets, identifies opportunities, and coordinates with plant management to ensure efficient supply arrangements; prepares requests for proposals, contracts and forecasts; negotiates major energy supply arrangements; ensures compliance with risk management policies; represents the Company in regulatory and political fora; collaborates with regional teams to identify cross-border opportunities and optimize energy use and costs.
Required Qualifications
- minimum of five to seven years of relevant experience
- four year degree or equivalent additional work experience
- broad knowledge of energy purchasing, utility regulation, markets, prices, accounting procedures
- experience with steel manufacturing energy uses and costs
- ability to analyze, develop, coordinate and implement effective procurement strategies
- ability to prepare requests for proposals, contracts, studies of relevant issues, forecasts and maintain adequate files and records
- ability to negotiate major supply arrangements under direction
- ability to represent Company interests in regulatory and political environments
- ability to collaborate with plant management and personnel to assure effective implementation of supply arrangements
