Job Summary
Responsible for safely transporting hazardous and non-hazardous materials from customer sites to designated sites using van trailers, tankers, roll-off frames, or other waste-carrying equipment. Ensures packaging meets DOT specifications, inspects manifests and shipping paperwork for accuracy, and maintains current transportation permits. Adheres to DOT, EPA, state and local regulations and Veolia policies. Performs pre-trip vehicle/trailer inspections, reviews shipment records and container labeling, ensures regulatory compliance (load weight, driver logs, Vehicle Inspection Records, permits, insurance, IFTA), communicates with customers about load conditions and paperwork, reports incidents, assists with loading/unloading at designated sites, and helps with housekeeping. Education: High School diploma or GED; experience: prior commercial driving experience; licenses: Valid Class A CDL with Hazmat endorsement; training: 40-Hour HAZWOPER preferred.
