Job Summary
Facilitate all inbound and outbound traffic entering or exiting the shipping yard by verifying and authorizing entrances for carriers, vendors, and maintenance vehicles. Monitor daily "Hub & Spoke" trailers to track arrival and departure, ensuring on-time performance and immediately notifying management of any delays. Update all inbound and outbound traffic logs to ensure accurate reporting of containers, trailers, and seal ID numbers, while communicating regularly with the dispatcher to maintain an accurate trailer pool. Obtain truck driver licenses for after-hours pickups, receive and hold FedEx/UPS packages for proper handling, and utilize the Yard Management system to input all trailer movements. Adhere to all company policies and safety procedures, reporting any non-compliance to the supervisor.
Required Qualifications
- High School or GED degree
- Must be able to lift products weighing up to approximately 50 pounds
- Handling of tires greater than approximately 50 pounds
- Specific vision abilities including close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus
- Ability to stand
- Ability to walk
- Ability to sit
- Ability to use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls
- Ability to reach with hands and arms
- Ability to climb stairs
- Ability to balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl
- Ability to talk, hear, taste and/or smell
- Ability to work in weather conditions prevalent at the time
- Moderate noise level tolerance
- 5% travel required
