Regional Director of Operations (Remote - Central/South Region)

Job Summary

Conduct regional operational oversight for specialty physician practices and ancillary service lines, partnering with physician leaders and local management to drive financial performance, provider engagement, and sustainable growth. Provide hands-on coaching, mentoring, and problem-solving support to practice administrators while establishing clear expectations and fostering accountability across assigned markets. Monitor operational, financial, and clinical performance using key performance indicators and dashboards to identify trends, recommend strategies, and develop action plans for continuous improvement. Collaborate with cross-functional departments on annual planning, budgeting, and due diligence for acquisitions, ensuring compliance with federal and state healthcare regulations. Travel approximately 50% to visit practices, with flexibility for extended hours and overnight trips as business needs require.

Required Qualifications

  • Seven (7) or more years of progressive leadership experience in physician practice operations, ambulatory healthcare services, or healthcare management
  • Direct experience leading multi-site physician practices and ancillary healthcare service lines
  • Private practice, physician practice management (PPM), or management services organization (MSO) experience
  • Experience collaborating with executive and senior-level leadership to achieve organizational objectives
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, Management, Finance, or a related field
  • Ability to travel approximately 50% or more, including regular visits to physician practices, ancillary service lines, and corporate offices, with overnight travel as business needs require
  • Ability to sit for extended periods and work at a computer, including participation in virtual meetings
  • Flexibility to work extended hours, including evenings and weekends, as needed to support operational priorities and respond to urgent business needs
  • Ability to occasionally lift up to 25 pounds

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience within surgical specialties
  • Experience supporting practice integrations, operational transitions, organizational growth initiatives, and change management efforts
  • Master's degree in Business Administration (MBA), Healthcare Administration (MHA), or a related field
