Job Summary
Provide strategic leadership across governance, compliance, risk management, privacy, workplace health and safety, and legal matters for the Australia and New Zealand region. Support Regional and State Boards to operate effectively by developing and implementing governance frameworks while overseeing policy development in key risk areas including child safety, privacy, procurement, and infrastructure. Lead board governance processes, reporting, and compliance monitoring activities to identify risks and drive remediation plans. Partner with Finance, Property, and operational teams to ensure compliance across all activities and develop training programs for Board Directors. Promote a culture of accountability, transparency, and continuous improvement while ensuring regulatory obligations are met. Required Qualifications
- Tertiary qualifications in law, governance, risk, finance, economics, or a related discipline
- 15+ years' senior leadership experience within governance, risk, compliance, legal, financial services, education, government-funded organisations, or another highly regulated industry
- Deep understanding of governance, risk, and compliance frameworks and regulatory requirements
- Experience working with Boards, executive leadership teams, and senior stakeholders
- Demonstrated experience developing and implementing compliance and risk programs
- Strong knowledge of ISO standards, including risk and workplace health and safety frameworks
- Outstanding communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- The ability to influence, educate, and build capability across diverse teams
- A solutions-focused mindset with the ability to balance strategic leadership and operational execution
