Job Summary
Support clinical and quality initiatives for owned, managed, and consulting facilities by providing support to field CNOs and DQMs. Serve as the infection control specialist responsible for developing, implementing, and coordinating a consistent approach to infection prevention and control. Provide regulatory compliance support and lead mock surveys while overseeing quality reporting focused on timely and accurate reporting. Act in interim CNO and DQM roles as requested by the VP of Clinical Services. This role requires a BS in Nursing with five years of clinical practice and five years as a CNO or DQM, plus proficiency in CMS Quality Reporting and infection prevention standards. Based in Plano with up to 75% travel time, including driving three uninterrupted hours and flying.
Required Qualifications
- BS in Nursing or equivalent degree
- Minimum of five (5) years of hospital clinical practice
- Minimum of five (5) years as CNO and or DQM
- Current unencumbered licensure to practice nursing or related profession
- HCAP certification
- Long-term Acute Care Experience
- Must have physical mobility to travel up to 75% of work time
- The visual, hearing, and mobility acuity and ability to safely operate a motor vehicle
- Ability to drive at least 3 uninterrupted hours
- Ability to travel via airplane
- Requires physical coordination to use a keyboard or keypad on a regular basis
- Ability to conduct business by phone
- Regularly required to talk and hear, and vision to include close and distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus
- Frequently stands, walks, sits, stoops and kneels
- May occasionally lift up to 50 pounds
- Mental stress due to high volume of workload and tight deadlines
- Ability to assist hospitals in enhancing a quality environment, positive clinical outcomes, operational productivity management, and a high level of patient, physician and employee satisfaction
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret clinical, financial and operational data
- Participates with the VP of Clinical Services Post-Acute in the planning, scheduling, reporting, and action planning of mock surveys
- Proficient knowledge of regulatory and accreditation standards and the ability to assist hospitals in meeting standards and prepare for surveys
- Proficient knowledge of CMS Quality Reporting requirements
- Proficient knowledge of Infection Prevention and Control practices
- Participates with the VP of Clinical Services Post-Acute in the development of documents and resources that support clinical, regulatory and quality initiatives for the owned, managed and consulting hospitals
- Actively participates in CNO and DQM development programs
- Communicates well verbally in both formal and informal formats
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from CHC corporate staff members, clinical and medical staff, Board members, facility leaders, and co-workers
- Works with people in such a manner as to build cooperation and group commitments to goals and objectives
- Assists with the identification of difficult operational and clinical care issues and promotes resolution thereof
- Strong ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Excellent project management, time management
- Current driver's license and good driving record
Desired Qualifications
- A Master's degree in Nursing
- Experience working with multi-site locations
- Experience as an infection control coordinator or specialist
