Job Summary
Regional Director - Fire Engineering at AECOM leads and develops the UK fire engineering team within a multidisciplinary design consultancy, delivering large-scale projects on time and within budget. Responsibilities include: managing workload and performance, delivering complex projects meeting regulatory and client expectations, collaborating across disciplines, leading performance reviews and professional development plans, mentoring staff towards Chartership, providing specialised technical input across portfolios, helping attract new work, ensuring quality and health & safety compliance, and contributing to business strategies and marketing. The role requires extensive UK fire engineering project experience, proficiency with fire engineering tools (FDS, SFE, evacuation modelling), professional memberships (e.g., MIFireE, NFPA CFPE), Chartered Engineer status, and advanced degrees (MSc/PhD) with international standards exposure; a hybrid working model is supported.
Required Qualifications
- Experience in working on UK fire engineering projects
- extensive experience in large multi-disciplinary environment
- Proficiency with FDS, SFE, evacuation modelling software
- Membership in professional institutions such as MIFireE and/or NFPA CFPE
- Chartered Engineer (CEng) with Institution of Fire Engineering
- MSc or PhD in fire-related discipline
- UK guidance documents (ADB, BS 9991, BS 9999, BS 9992, HTM 05-02, BB100)
- International experience with standards (IBC, SFPE, NFPA)
- Security clearance (preferred)
- MSc/PhD preferred
- Hybrid working model
