Job Summary
Regional Director - Fire Engineering at AECOM oversees and mentors a UK-based fire engineering team, leads delivery of large and complex projects to meet regulatory and client expectations, collaborates with multi-disciplinary teams and national leadership, sets SMART goals and conducts staff appraisals, manages budgets and schedules, develops professional development plans, provides specialized technical input across portfolios, and leads client relationships to attract new work while promoting health and safety policies and the firm’s fire engineering capability. The role emphasizes leadership, project delivery, technical oversight, and business development within a consulting environment, with a flexible hybrid working model.
Required Qualifications
- Experience in working on fire engineering projects in the UK
- Extensive experience working in a large, multi-disciplinary environment
- Comprehensive knowledge of UK guidance documents and standards (e.g. ADB, BS 9991, BS 9999, BS 9992, HTM 05-02, BB100)
- Proficiency in fire engineering tools such as FDS, SFE, and evacuation modelling software
- Membership in relevant professional institutions (e.g. MIFireE) and/or NFPA certifications (e.g. CFPE)
- Chartered Engineer (CEng) with the Institution of Fire Engineering (preferred)
- MSc or PhD in a fire-related discipline (preferred)
- International experience with standards (IBC, SFPE, NFPA)
- Security clearance (preferred)
