Regional Dietary Manager – State Veterans Homes

Job Summary
Oversee dietary and food service operations across multiple long-term care facilities, ensuring meals meet residents' nutritional needs, preferences, and physician-ordered diets while maintaining regulatory compliance with CMS regulations, state health department requirements, and HACCP standards. Provide leadership and coaching to facility Dietary Managers and food service staff, supporting hiring, onboarding, training, and performance management. Monitor food and supply costs, review purchasing practices, and analyze satisfaction data to drive quality improvements and cost containment strategies. Travel extensively throughout the assigned region to support survey readiness, mock surveys, and interdisciplinary collaboration with Administrators, Nursing, Speech Therapy, and Dietitians.
Required Qualifications
- Certified Dietary Manager (CDM) or Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) credential
- ServSafe certification (or ability to obtain within required timeframe)
- Minimum 3–5 years of dietary management experience in long-term care or healthcare settings
- Strong knowledge of CMS dietary regulations, food safety standards, and infection prevention
- Ability to travel regularly within assigned region
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Nutrition, Food Service Management, or related field
- Prior regional or multi-facility dietary leadership experience
- Experience with resident-centered dining and culture change initiatives
- Strong leadership and team development skills
- Excellent organizational and time management abilities
- Attention to detail and regulatory compliance
- Effective communication with residents, families, and interdisciplinary teams
- Ability to manage multiple facilities and priorities
