Job Summary
Plan, implement, and evaluate the activities of the RISE & SI department in support of the Center for Strategic District Support and Region 4 ESC’s mission and strategies. Coordinate day-to-day activities to ensure alignment with established implementation plans and timelines. Aligns the RISE initiative with organizational priorities, state frameworks, and school improvement strategies. Executes the operationalization of the RISE initiative across participating schools and LEAs. Executes implementation plans, service schedules, and program structures aligned with approved initiative design. Ensures consistent implementation of program components and service delivery across participating schools. Accurately track and complete performance management tools, routines, templates, and/or trackers of established milestones, metrics, and trajectories that help build a common language and understanding on utilizing the elements of performance management for successful program implementation and goal attainment. Maintains and organizes tracking systems, dashboards, and tools to monitor implementation progress, service delivery, and school engagement, and ensures accurate, transparent, and on-time reporting and analysis of progress and performance results to internal/external stakeholders through the creation and utilization of dashboards and monthly progress meetings. Proactively builds and maintains strong collaborative relationships with school systems within the region. Maintains documentation of department activities to meet all internal programmatic and fiscal requirements and all requirements imposed by the Texas Education Agency. Provides technical assistance and services as specified by any applicable federal grant that funds this position. Prolonged and irregular hours may be required with occasional statewide travel; focus on leadership development, coordination, and stewardship of district improvement initiatives.
Required Qualifications
- Master’s degree
- Texas Educator Certificate for the appropriate content and grade levels (Reading Language Arts Grades 1-8)
- ESL Certification
- Mid-management or Supervisory Certificate
- Five years teaching experience in a traditional district/charter school
- Three years of experience in campus administration, district central office, and/or three years of ESC level experience
- Experience developing and presenting professional development
- Experience in leading and coordinating multi-department collaborative efforts and aligning work across projects to support the systemic needs of school systems
- Extensive knowledge of school leadership and turnaround efforts
- Broad-based knowledge of Texas continuous improvement efforts including state and federal programs, accountability metrics, the Essential Schools Framework (ESF), School Improvement requirements, and Texas Instructional Leadership programming
- Ability to articulate, communicate, and build a clear vision for district systemic transformation, including helping district leaders have a clear understanding of services offered, how to access support, and how all support can be integrated and strategically aligned
- Experience and expertise in coaching and providing technical assistance to ESC, campus and/or district leaders
- Knowledge of best practices related to change management, including, but not limited to, those practices that impede as well as empower leadership
- Exemplary written and oral communication skills
- Ability to build rapport with both internal and external customers
- Exhibits a growth mindset and is open to receiving job-embedded coaching
- Ability to proactively identify customer needs and take initiative to develop and support areas of need to grow new lines of department business
