Job Summary
Lead regional compliance and assurance activity across Mechanical & Electrical and specialist services, providing independent oversight of engineering standards for healthcare, education, blue light, and private sector environments. Manage the Compliance Team and act as the lead Authorising Person for technical disciplines, ensuring adherence to statutory requirements and Safe Systems of Work. Plan and deliver technical assurance audits to drive remediation actions while maintaining governance of Authorised Persons, including their competence and training. Review standard operating procedures and provide technical guidance on engineering standards and legal compliance. Report compliance performance and risk to regional leadership and work with operational teams to improve service delivery consistency. This role operates within Robertson Facilities Management's regional Scotland portfolio, focusing on sustainable service delivery and continuous improvement.
Required Qualifications
- Significant experience in technical Facilities Management (Hard FM)
- Experience operating in a compliance, assurance or Authorised Person governance role
- Strong working knowledge of statutory compliance across M&E services (e.g. L8, Fire Doors, Electrical, Mechanical, Lifts)
- Proven experience delivering compliance, audits and assurance activities
- Ability to interpret and apply H&S and technical legislation in live environments
- Confident communicator, able to present to senior stakeholders and customers
- Strong organisational skills, able to prioritise and manage multiple priorities
- A valid UK Driving Licence
- willingness to travel throughout the region (Scotland)
- The successful candidate will require a DBS/Disclosure Check before starting in the job
Desired Qualifications
- Membership of a relevant professional body
- Experience with CAFM systems (e.g. MRI Evolution, Maximo)
- Project management qualification
- Commercial awareness, including identifying compliance-led opportunities
