Regional Communications Officer

Job Summary

Define the Regional Communications Strategy and workplans, coordinating with Field Offices to produce evidence-based content for donor engagement and advocacy. Build collaboration lines with Advocacy, Operations, and Marketing teams to deliver technical branding, leadership communications, and emergency responses. Manage media engagement with regional and global outlets, pitch newsworthy themes, and coordinate media requests during humanitarian crises. Establish a map of engagement with private sector and multilateral stakeholders to support regional positioning. Provide training to Field Office teams on storytelling and technical branding while maintaining updated spokesperson pools. Conceptualize and coordinate virtual events, including writing concept notes and managing graphic design support. Oversee digital content strategy for social media and web pages, ensuring compliance with brand guidelines and managing outsourced services. Support National Office teams in servicing Support Offices for fundraising, marketing, and public advocacy campaigns.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in journalism, social communications, marketing or Public Relations
  • At least 5 years of experience
  • Extensive background in communications, marketing or journalism
  • Experience in coordinating and producing written-video content for donor/sponsor engagement, public advocacy and media relations purposes
  • Experience creating and implementing internal/external communications strategies
  • Excellent understanding of social media and knowledge of virtual events platforms
  • Excellent skills in both Spanish and English: speaking, writing, and editing
  • Storyteller Availability to travel within Latin America upon demand, to support emergency comms and content gathering
  • Committed Christian and individual identified with our core values and humanitarian mandate
  • Regular attendance with team and office devotions, chapel and prayer gatherings

  • Good understanding of geopolitical, economic and social issues in the LAC region (or the ability to acquire this understanding)
  • Strong interpersonal and cross-cultural communication skills
  • Storyteller and creative thinking
