Job Summary
Oversee standardized education and competency programs across multistate branches by supporting new hire onboarding, mentoring staff from novice to expert, and developing teaching aids. Teach patients, families, and caregivers on disease processes, self-care, medications, and diet as ordered while assessing educational needs to address clinical practice gaps. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and administrators to develop agency goals, ensure audit readiness, and align initiatives with CMS regulations and hospice best practices. Travel 70%+ of the time to serve as a visible clinical resource and role model across Peoria and surrounding areas.
Required Qualifications
- RN licensure in primary state of assignment
- ability to obtain licensure in additional states (compact licensure accepted where applicable)
- Minimum 2 years of hospice experience
- Valid driver's license
- reliable transportation
- ability to travel 75%+ of the time
Desired Qualifications
- BSN
- C.H.P.N. (Certified Hospice and Palliative Nurse) certification
- 5+ years of general nursing experience
- pain and symptom management experience
- Strong ability to teach, train, and mentor clinical staff across experience levels
- Excellent observation, assessment, nursing judgment, and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within an interdisciplinary setting
- Genuine passion for hospice care
