Regional Associate Director of Operations

Job Summary
Lead operational performance for multiple Inspection Centers by identifying and resolving challenges to meet production targets and objectives. Oversee team staffing, retention, and engagement while visiting the shop floor to maintain awareness of realities and connection to staff. Collaborate with leadership to build a pipeline of associates, develop a bench of candidates, and ensure progression path training is consistently executed. Manage production planning, capacity, and purchasing alignment while enforcing operating standards including 5S, visual management, and health and safety guidelines. Audit continuous improvement events, lead problem-solving efforts, and mentor Inspection Center General Managers. Requires minimum 10 years of management experience, valid driver's license, and ability to work variable schedules, weekends, and overtime.
Required Qualifications
- Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record (no DUIs and no more than two moving violations in the last 3 years)
- Minimum of 10 years of management experience either in automotive or a lean manufacturing environment leading over 100 associates
- Current GM at a Carvana Inspection Center or has successfully led multiple manufacturing or reconditioning work centers
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and experience applying those principles in a complex operating environment
- Proven track record of leading and developing associates and managers
- Proven ability to manage project deliverables and metrics against aggressive targets and timeline
- Ability to communicate and interact with others effectively in a professional, courteous manner
- Ability to work with and through teams to achieve results
- Strong analysis and decision making ability
- Proficient computer skills
- Must be able to lift up to 60 pounds independently; majority of lifting from knee to shoulder heights; other lifting required from various levels
- Requires standing for extended periods of time with frequent stretching, reaching, walking, stooping, pushing, and/or pulling in an environment that may be cold, hot, noisy, and wet and may have fumes or odors due to vehicle maintenance
- Requires use of safety equipment that may include but not limited to face shield or goggles, non-slip shoes, gloves, mask, and other protective garments and equipment
- Ability to work overtime and on weekends
- Ability to work variable schedule(s) as necessary
