Job Summary
Develop and implement admission, financial aid, and early outreach strategies to increase enrollment of under-represented students in the Eagle Pass/San Antonio region. Recruit prospective students and parents through the full application process, troubleshooting issues and advising on scholarships, loans, and financial counseling. Coordinate high school counselors, manage campus trips and resource tables, and mentor subordinate advisors on admissions policies and relationship building. Conduct presentations on financial aid programs and assist with budgeting and money management for students.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree
- Two years of related experience
- Bilingual (Spanish/English)
- Experience in higher education
- Knowledge of Word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation software
- Knowledge of Financial aid programs and federal regulations relating to student financial aid
- Ability to Multitask and work cooperatively with others
- Organizational and interpersonal skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills, verbal and written communication skills with individuals or in a group setting
- Ability to work well with students and parents
- Proficiency in related student information systems such as Banner and Degreeworks
- Evening and weekend work
- Travel
- On campus, face-to-face interactions
- Maintaining a regular schedule of attendance on campus and in the workplace
