Job Summary
Perform timely repairs and maintenance on reefer units, including diesel-powered refrigeration systems. Diagnose and troubleshoot refrigeration, electrical, and mechanical issues on trailer reefer units. Complete preventive maintenance and service on A/C and refrigeration systems. Conduct DOT inspections and trailer repairs when reefer units are in working condition. Ensure vehicles and refrigeration units meet safety and compliance standards. Accurately document repairs and complete work orders. Maintain a clean and organized work area, including your tools and equipment. Follow all safety procedures and company policies. Collaborate with supervisors and team members to support fleet operations.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years' of hands-on experience working on reefer units and trailer refrigeration systems
- Strong proficiency and working knowledge of reefer (diesel-powered refrigeration) units, PMs, and A/C systems
- EPA Section 608 Certification required
- Required experience repairing refrigeration units (diesel engine) on heavy-duty trailers
- Valid driver's license
- Ability to own and maintain the personal tools and toolbox required for the role
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
- Willingness and ability to meet the physical demands of the position
- Must be eligible to pass standard pre-employment screenings, including drug screen and DOT physical (if required)
- Ability to see and hear sufficiently to safely navigate the workspace
Desired Qualifications
- Strong experience diagnosing and repairing Thermo King and/or Carrier Reefer units
