Job Summary
Diagnose and problem solve refrigeration equipment to identify issues and determine the best course of action for repairs. Perform routine and preventive maintenance for HVAC & refrigeration systems, including brazing, nitrogen sweeping, and evacuation protocols. Erect, seal, and insulate walk-in coolers and freezer boxes while maintaining tools and vehicles for safe operation. Prepare written documentation such as repair status logs and work orders for customers and supervisors. Respond to emergency situations during or after hours to resolve immediate safety concerns. Requires 3+ years commercial refrigeration experience, EPA certification, and ability to work irregular hours including an on-call schedule. Valid Virginia driver's license with clean record is mandatory.
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years commercial refrigeration experience
- High school diploma or equivalent
- EPA Certification
- Fluent English-speaking and writing skills
- Valid Virginia driver's license
- Positive points on state driving record
- At least 21 years of age
- No DUI, DWI, or reckless driving conviction in the last five years
- Must be able to crawl, kneel, squat, and climb
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis, unassisted
- Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods of time
- Able to work irregular and extended hours, including an on-call schedule
