Refrigeration Technician II

Job Summary
Perform routine refrigeration maintenance and repair throughout the warehouse, including operation, adjustment, and replacement of system components using safe LOTO procedures and PSM program compliance. Monitor system performance to identify malfunctions, troubleshoot equipment to determine root causes, and recommend corrective actions. Test and calibrate HVAC systems using instruments like voltmeters and pressure gauges, while maintaining accurate preventive maintenance records in the Oracle CMMS. Conduct safety equipment tests, ensure work compliance with blueprints and OSHA standards, and keep work areas 6S'd. Work flexible shifts including on-call rotation, tolerating temperatures down to -45°F and heights over 30 ft.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- 2+ years of Industrial Refrigeration Maintenance experience
- 3+ years Industrial Maintenance experience, plus relevant industry certification (i.e. RETA, Garden City, EPA Universal etc)
- Required to successfully complete assigned Industrial Refrigeration and maintenance courses
- Troubleshooting and repairs with differing control systems ALTA/Allen Bradley etc
- Required to be trained in HAZMAT; obtain and maintain the certification
- Experience using Oracle Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS)
- Able to tolerate working environment with inside controlled temperatures of minus 45 (-45) degrees Fahrenheit (-43 degrees Celsius) and outside ambient temperatures (including heat, cold, and precipitation)
- Able to work at heights in excess of 30 ft. (9 meters) and access elevated platforms, catwalks, and roofs
- Able to work in confined areas
- Able to climb ladders and stairs
- Able frequently to stand, walk, push, pull, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, and/or crouch
- Able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds (23 kg) frequently
- Able to operate hand and power tools safely
- Able to meet specific vision abilities required by this job including close vision, distance vision, color vision, and depth perception
- Able to frequently step up/on or step down/off to mount and dismount material handling equipment
- Able to perform fine articulation movements with fingers/hands and/or feet to operate equipment
- Able to wear personal protective equipment required for any/all tasks
Desired Qualifications
- Experience working in a Cold Storage environment
- Ammonia refrigeration maintenance experience
- CARO and CIRO certification
- Ability to troubleshoot and diagnose down to the component level on all refrigeration equipment
- Share knowledge, train and develop less experienced technicians
