Job Summary
Perform standard level maintenance, service, and repair on J.B. Hunt specialized trailers, chassis, and equipment, including troubleshooting air brake systems, tire replacements, electrical diagnostics, and minor structural repairs using cutting torches and welding. Complete all fleet maintenance processes and FHWA inspections while adhering to safety procedures and manufacturer specifications. Work independently across multiple shifts, including nights and weekends, with full-time attendance required.
Required Qualifications
- 18 years of age
- 1-2 years of experience in Semi-Trailer maintenance and repair and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience, and/or military equivalent
- Willingness to work outdoors, in the elements, or across multiple shifts including nights and/or weekends if needed
- EPA section 608 certification
- Tech 2
- At least 1 year of experience in DOT inspections, FHWA inspections, and air brakes
- Basic tools are required to successfully perform this role
- Ability to fulfill physical requirements (lift/move appliance up to 50 pounds)
- Ability to read documents and/or information in English
- Ability to wear appropriate work attire (protective gear/PPE)
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Knowledge of ABS systems
- Proficient computer skills and/or comfortable working with a computer, including Microsoft Office suite (PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
- Ability to use a logical approach to derive a specific conclusion from general ideas
- Ability to use time and resources efficiently and effectively
- Ability to work with minimal direction
- Possess standard welding, cutting, and brazing skills
Desired Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent with 1-2 years of experience in Semi-Trailer maintenance and repair and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience, and/or military equivalent
- Ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas through various mediums
- Ability to manage multiple priorities
- Knowledge of approaches and techniques for recognizing, anticipating, and resolving operations or process problems
