Job Summary
Refrigeration Technician I responsible for operating and repairing warehouse refrigeration systems, performing preventative maintenance, and troubleshooting industrial mechanical and electrical equipment. Responsibilities include monitoring system performance, conducting routine maintenance per OSHA standards, testing safety equipment, maintaining preventive maintenance records, and keeping work areas organized (6S). Flexibility to work on-call and nights/weekends as needed. Must have a high school diploma/GED (or HVAC/R certification/technical degree) with 2 years of refrigeration/maintenance experience or an associated certification; HazMat training required; basic computer skills; experience with CMMS (Oracle CMMS) and testing equipment is a plus; prior experience in cold storage environments is advantageous; must be able to use hand and power tools and pass physical and respiratory exams.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- 2 years combined Refrigeration and/or Maintenance experience OR HVAC/R certification and/or technical Degree
- Required to successfully complete assigned Industrial Refrigeration and/or mechanical-electrical courses
- Required to train in HAZMAT, obtain and maintain the certification
- Basic computer skills (email, internet, data entry)
