Refrigeration Technician

Job Summary
Monitor, inspect, and maintain refrigeration equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation while identifying deficiencies and preparing work orders for repairs. Troubleshoot system issues, implement corrective actions, and participate in preventative maintenance activities to reduce downtime. Maintain accurate Process Safety Management (PSM) records and complete required reports in accordance with company policies and standard operating procedures. Support compliance with safety, environmental, and operational requirements. Experience with ammonia refrigeration systems and industrial maintenance is required, along with strong mechanical troubleshooting skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team. This role supports plant production and food safety standards at a facility in Enterprise, AL, where Pilgrim's processes fresh, frozen, and value-added food products globally.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of one year of ammonia refrigeration or industrial maintenance experience
Desired Qualifications
- Experience working with A/C and D/C control systems
- Experience working with hydraulic and pneumatic systems
- Strong mechanical troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities
- Capability to accurately maintain technical records and documentation
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
- Comfortable standing and walking for extended periods throughout the shift
- Flexibility including willingness to work weekends, overtime, and respond to operational needs as required
