Job Summary
Install, retrofit, and build refrigeration equipment and systems, including pipe fitting, brazing copper and dissimilar metals, and interpreting blueprints for walk-in boxes. Troubleshoot refrigeration systems by diagnosing electrical wiring, recovering refrigerant, and adjusting superheat through valve control. Operate scissor lifts and forklifts while maintaining company and manufacturer specifications during installation. Perform administrative tasks such as ordering materials, writing purchase orders, and entering data for refrigerant reports. Manage communications with office managers, store associates, and contractors while maintaining a safe work environment. Must possess a valid driver's license, EPA Section 608 Universal Certification, and be willing to work day or night shifts.
Required Qualifications
- Must possess a valid driver's license
- Must possess an EPA Section 608 Universal Certification
- Must be willing to work day or night shifts as needed. Including overtime and emergencies
- Must be able to respond to direct and radio requests as soon as possible
- Must be able to maintain proper neat uniform appearance of Company provided work shirt and employee provided clean blue jeans without holes or tears
- Must wear required Personal Protective Equipment as required including arc flash and safety glasses
- Must be able to perform manual labor
- Stooping, bending, twisting, lifting, and reaching are required in the completion of job duties
Desired Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Graduate of building related vocational - technical programs are preferred
- Must be computer literate
- Ability to interpret blueprints, including the layout and installation of piping, cases, and coils in walk-in boxes
- Ability to read and comprehend manuals, prints, and work orders
- Ability to perform start ups on various system types
- Ability to adjust system set points through various refrigeration management systems
- Knowledge of tools and equipment maintenance
- General record keeping skills
- Customer service orientation and sensitivity to diverse needs of coworkers, employees, and other persons contacted in the daily course of work
