Refrigeration Technician - 3rd Shift

Job Summary
Perform preventive maintenance, inspections, adjustments, and troubleshooting of refrigeration systems to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient plant operations. Monitor systems for safe and efficient operation, maintain accurate daily maintenance records, and respond promptly to service calls with limited supervision. Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues, read technical manuals, and communicate equipment trends to supervisors. Work with team members to resolve issues, maintain a clean work area, and identify opportunities to reduce waste and control costs while following all safety and food safety standards. This industrial maintenance role includes Sunday-Thursday shifts from 10:00 PM to 7:00 AM. Industrial ammonia refrigeration experience is preferred, and training for RETA certification is provided.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Minimum 5 years of related experience and/or equivalent training
- Ability to troubleshoot and repair mechanical systems
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, safety rules, and maintenance instructions
- Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to manage multiple and competing priorities
- Ability to work independently and follow direction from management and department leads
- Willingness to accept constructive feedback and continuously develop technical skills
- Must have a valid driver's license
- Must provide and maintain your own hand tools
- Must be willing to complete training for RETA certification
- Must be comfortable working in a variety of conditions, including cold and hot environments
- Must be comfortable working in wet and/or humid conditions
- Must be comfortable working in noisy areas where hearing protection is required
- Must be comfortable working in areas near moving mechanical equipment
- Must be comfortable working in elevated or precarious work areas
- Must be comfortable working in areas with electrical hazards and vibration
- Must be able to perform frequent standing, walking, climbing, reaching, bending, kneeling, crouching, and crawling
- Must be able to lift or move up to 50 pounds
- Must regularly be able to lift or move more than 100 pounds
Desired Qualifications
- Industrial ammonia refrigeration experience is a plus
- Industrial ammonia refrigeration experience is preferred, but not required
- 24-hour Hazmat training is a plus
- Knowledge of electrical motor controls or PLCs is beneficial
