Job Summary
Repair, replace, and correct refrigeration equipment to ensure efficient operation according to production requirements while troubleshooting issues and consulting with engineers and vendors. Perform preventative maintenance on assigned facility and process equipment, complying with all safety policies, regulations, and Simmons PSM programs, including HAZMAT team qualification. Participate in team meetings, foster cohesiveness, and implement team concepts to support business objectives. Work in extreme temperatures, cramped enclosed areas, and on feet for the entire shift, manually lifting up to 50 pounds, while using appropriate PPE. Requires experience in electrical, electronic, PLC, and mechanical repair, plus completion of Ammonia Refrigeration Operator I class.
Required Qualifications
- Must be able to qualify as a member of plant HAZMAT team
- Must be able to manually lift up to 50 pounds
- Must be able to work in extreme temperatures
- Must be able to work on feet for entire shift
- Must be able to work in cramped, enclosed, elevated, wet, dirty area
- Must be able to work with a noise level above 90 decibels
- Must have experience or vocational training in electrical repair
- Must have experience or vocational training in electronic repair
- Must have experience or vocational training in PLC repair
- Must have experience or vocational training in mechanical repair
- Must have experience or vocational training in hydraulics
- Must have completed and passed Ammonia Refrigeration Operator I class
- Must have the ability to make good decisions
- Must have the ability to communicate effectively with others and leadership team
Desired Qualifications
- Preference for poultry or food processing organization maintenance and refrigeration
