Job Summary
Install, inspect, and maintain commercial refrigeration systems including walk-in coolers, display cases, and rack systems. Diagnose faults and perform repairs on compressors, condensers, evaporators, expansion valves, and control systems while monitoring performance for optimal efficiency. Handle refrigerants in compliance with safety and environmental regulations, read technical diagrams, and maintain accurate service logs. Respond to emergency service calls and troubleshoot system failures promptly. Work independently or with team members to ensure timely project completion.
Required Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Commercial Refrigeration Technician or in a similar role
- Technical certification or diploma in refrigeration, HVAC, or a related field
- Strong knowledge of commercial refrigeration systems and components
- Ability to troubleshoot complex systems and resolve issues efficiently
- Familiarity with safety standards, codes, and environmental regulations
- Strong problem-solving, organizational, and time management skills
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with supermarket rack refrigeration systems and large-scale installations
- Certification in refrigerant handling (EPA or equivalent/local certification)
- Basic electrical troubleshooting and mechanical repair skills
- Experience with energy management systems and controls
