Job Summary
Operate and maintain ammonia screw compressor packages and perform routine preventative maintenance on refrigeration equipment to ensure proper food temperatures per USDA standards. Maintain ammonia evaporators, condensers, boilers, and steam controls while conducting chemical testing to prevent equipment scaling. Manage ammonia vessels and liquid pumps to supply adequate refrigerant and oil for production cycles. Log daily work orders and complete required documentation using the Computerized Maintenance Management System. Requires enrollment in an Ammonia Refrigeration Maintenance Program or one year of relevant experience. 2nd shift rotation in Claryville, Alexandria, KY.
Required Qualifications
- currently enrolled in an Ammonia Refrigeration Maintenance Program
- one year of experience working in Ammonia Refrigeration Maintenance
- one year of classroom training from a Technical College
- graduated from a technical college with a certification in Ammonia Refrigeration Maintenance
- one year of HVAC experience
- proof of enrollment
- proof of training with a passing grade
- willing and able to perform the physical requirements of the job with or without reasonable accommodation
- ability to lift, push, and pull up to 70 lbs. occasionally
- ability to lift to 10 lbs. frequently
- ability to stand on hard surfaces for up to 12 hours per day
- ability to work in confined spaces
- ability to walk, climb, bend and stoop
- ability to perform repetitive gripping, pushing, and pulling
