Job Summary
Operate and maintain refrigeration systems and ammonia-based HVAC in a Tyson Foods facility. Perform preventative maintenance and safety checks, adhere to GMP and SQF requirements, and complete Tyson Level 1–4 Skills Training within 18 months. Hazmat certification and active Hazmat Team membership are required. Must read, write, and use math for paperwork; able to work in extreme conditions, overtime, and weekends. Experience with HVAC/ammonia systems in industrial settings (2–5 years) and knowledge of mechanical/electrical trouble-shooting, PLC controls, hydraulics, pneumatics, and basic facility maintenance. Forklift/skyjack experience and ability to adapt to shift (10:30 PM–7:00 AM) in a Portland, ME facility. Tyson Foods is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 2-5 years of experience with HVAC or Ammonia systems
- Experience in an industrial or commercial setting preferred
- Must be familiar with Plant Compressed Air systems and all water supply systems (Ex: Chill water, Hot water supply system, City water and Glycol systems)
- Must be a member of the Hazmat Team and pass required physical
- Must be able to work in harsh environments for short periods of time (Ex: Heat, cold, rain, snow, wind, water, mud, etc.)
- Must be capable to read, write, and use math skills in order to complete necessary paperwork
- Must be able to work overtime and/or weekends as needed
