Job Summary
Maintain HVAC systems and auxiliary equipment by installing, troubleshooting, repairing, adjusting, cleaning, greasing, and replacing parts and supplies. Manage shop tools, work orders, logs, and inventories while reporting to the Manager of the HVAC Shop. Requires a New York City Refrigeration Engineer's License, EPA-CFC Universal certification, and three years of mechanical maintenance experience with absorption and freon A/C equipment. Work hours run from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM on Fridays through Tuesdays.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma
- Some college education in engineering and/or a completion certificate from a recognized trade school
- New York City Refrigeration Engineer's License
- EPA-CFC Universal certification
- 3 years' mechanical maintenance experience with absorption and freon A/C equipment
- Knowledge and skills in electric, plumbing systems, refrigeration cycle, common parts and pneumatic/electrical/electronic control systems
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics, wiring diagrams and nameplates
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
- Must be flexible with work hours
- Must have New York City Refrigeration Engineer's License and EPA-CFC Universal certification
