Job Summary

Refrigeration Engineer focused on designing and supporting supermarket refrigeration systems for new stores, remodels, and capital maintenance. Responsibilities include engineering design, field assessments, and construction support, using AutoCAD and Excel to prepare piping plans, equipment schedules, and installation specifications. The role involves coordinating with HVAC, EMS, store planning, architectural, and engineering teams; performing field inspections; recommending equipment modifications; preparing bid documents; and coordinating with equipment manufacturers on project-specific requirements. Opportunities exist to grow technical expertise within a standardized store environment, with travel 10–20% and a pathway from early‐career engineering through continued professional development. Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline
  • 1–3 years of experience in HVACR, refrigeration, construction, or engineering design services or New graduates with relevant internships, co-ops, or academic project experience will be considered
  • Working knowledge of commercial or industrial refrigeration systems, cycles, and controls (CO2 / R744 preferred)
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and working knowledge of Microsoft Excel
  • Strong analytical and problem‐solving skills with attention to detail
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills
  • Self‐directed, motivated, and eager to learn in a collaborative engineering environment
  • Ability to travel 10–20%, including occasional overnight travel
  • Foundational understanding of commercial or supermarket refrigeration systems
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and equipment documentation
  • Working knowledge of refrigeration system components and controls
  • Organized, detail‐oriented approach to managing multiple tasks and deadlines
  • Ability to take technical direction and apply feedback effectively
  • Strong collaboration skills across cross‐functional project teams
  • Desire to develop long‐term technical and professional growth within refrigeration engineering
