Refractory Technical Specialist, Ironmaking & Reheat

Job Summary
Lead and coordinate refractory product trials and evaluations at customer facilities across Canada. Partner with customers and commercial teams to optimize refractory performance, troubleshoot challenges, and recommend materials and lining designs based on specific requirements. Deliver technical training programs for sales teams and collaborate with R&D on product development and continuous improvement initiatives. Support Operations, product transfer initiatives, and sustainability goals while working safely in heavy industrial environments. Travel extensively throughout Canada to support projects and stakeholders.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Ceramic Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, or related discipline
- 5+ years of experience in refractories, ironmaking, or related steel industry applications
- Strong understanding of refractory technologies and steelmaking processes
- Ability to work safely in heavy industrial environments and follow OSHA requirements
- Mechanical aptitude and field support experience
- Excellent communication, presentation, and organizational skills
- Advanced Microsoft 365 skills
- 75%+ Travel
