Refractory Crane Operator/Vacation Coverage

Job Summary
Operate overhead cranes, jib cranes, and refractory equipment including mixer and gunning machines while installing material in melt shop vessels such as Electric Arc furnaces and ladles. Supervise contract labor force and assist the Refractory Shift Leader in day-to-day operations, covering shifts as needed. Log refractory consumables, maintain housekeeping, and contact maintenance for equipment repairs. Adhere to all safety procedures, including lockout/tagout guidelines and personal protective equipment requirements, while participating in continuous improvement programs. Work a rotating shift schedule involving days to nights weekly or bi-weekly rotations.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of a High School Degree or Equivalent (GED)
- Must work well with others
- Good Communication Skills
- Time Management skills
- Basic Computer skills
- Mobility in plant
- Ability to sit, stand, walk
- Ability to make use of hands for technical tasks
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 100 pounds
- Visual ability with or without correction
- Depth Perception for crane
- Ability to work a rotating shift
- Work in compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act and regulations
- Follow Company safety rules
- Report the absence of or defect in any protective equipment or clothing to the Supervisor or Manager immediately
- Use or wear the equipment, protective devices or clothing that is required to be used or worn

- Report to the Safety Coordinator, Group Lead or Supervisor any contravention of the Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulations or Company policy
- Follow all Lock out Tag out (LOTO) guidelines for designated machines
- Follow all Environmental Policies and Regulations
- Maintain a clean and safe work area
- Abiding by the Acerinox Code of Conduct

- Abiding by all security procedures
- Must have strong written and verbal communication skills
