Job Summary
Lead safe, effective, and educational group reformer Pilates classes, focusing on control, breath, and proper alignment to build strength and flexibility. Modify instruction to meet varied health and cultural needs while providing supportive feedback to promote skill development. Track attendance accurately, maintain required certifications, and attend training to ensure best practices. Promote classes by engaging members, inviting friends, and leading introductory sessions to showcase program benefits. Commit to a weekly schedule, find substitutes for absences, and cover other instructors to maintain a consistent member experience. Follow YMCA policies and respond to emergency situations as directed.
Required Qualifications
- CPR, First Aid, AED, national certification
- Pilates Mat and Pilates Reformer certifications
- Ability to conduct classes and activities
- Ability to perform all physical aspects of the position; including leading class, walking, standing, bending, reaching, and lifting
Desired Qualifications
- At least one year of experience teaching group exercise classes is preferred
- Suspension trainer Pilates, Advanced Reformer and Mat and other specializations may be required depending on group formats taught
