Job Summary
Operate refinish and body shop equipment to restore repaired vehicles to pre-accident condition through expert surface preparation, color matching, and refinishing. Remove rust, grease, and contaminants via sanding, masking, and cleaning, then mix paints, primers, and coatings to achieve accurate specifications. Apply primer, basecoat, and clearcoat finishes using spray equipment while inspecting work for color accuracy, gloss consistency, and defect-free results. Perform touch-ups, maintain tools and spray guns, and comply with safety protocols, including respirator use and hazardous waste disposal. Support team members with workflow coordination to maintain production efficiency in a fast-paced, safety-focused environment.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of experience in professional autobody refinishing or collision repair refinishing
- Proficiency with collision repair refinishing equipment
- Ability to read repair estimates and work orders
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Physical ability to bend
- Physical ability to kneel
- Physical ability to stand for long periods
- Annual training
