Job Summary
Load and unload hot oil rail cars following established procedures, verify proper flow, and accurately document volumes. Inspect work areas, equipment, loading arms, hoses, and valves before, during, and after operations, ensuring safe connections and disconnections. Comply with rail safety, hazmat, environmental, and plant policy requirements while maintaining housekeeping standards and reporting unsafe conditions. Build knowledge of operating areas, process flow, and basic troubleshooting expectations through shift turnovers, job briefings, and cross-training. Work safely around pumps, valves, tanks, and piping while communicating effectively with Operations, supervision, maintenance, and other work groups.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Must be able to climb ladders and stairs
- Must be able to work at heights
- Must be able to navigate uneven surfaces
- Must be able to wear PPE including FRC clothing, hard hat, safety glasses, steel-toe boots, and hearing protection
- Must be able to wear respiratory protection and personal gas monitors, including H2S and LEL monitors
- Must be able to work in outdoor conditions including extreme heat, cold, and inclement weather
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs
- Must pass pre-employment physical examination
