Job Summary
The Referrals Specialist performs functions to ensure patients are cleared for specialty service visits, processes prior authorizations, schedules appointments, and tracks referrals. Responsibilities include preparing referral paperwork, contacting clinics for information, utilizing insurance portals, and updating patients on referrals. Candidates must possess a high school diploma or GED, have at least one year of experience in a clinical environment, and have strong communication and customer service skills.
Required Qualifications
- HS Diploma or GED Certificate required
- Minimum of one year of experience working in hospital or other clinical environment
- Excellent communication and customer service skills required
Desired Qualifications
- Bilingual, Spanish and English preferred
- Medical or Administrative training
