Job Summary
Coordinate patient referrals between internal and external healthcare providers, ensuring timely processing of referral orders and authorizations; guide providers on ordering referrals as needed; verify eligibility and patient financial responsibility with insurance companies; obtain specialist reports and facilitate ongoing authorizations; serve as liaison to clinic staff, outside providers, and vendors; maintain professional relationships and support teaching programs with interns and residents; demonstrate strong accuracy, organizational, and communication skills to support a patient-centered workflow.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- EPIC certification for the module you have been hired into
- Minimum of one (1) year of experience in a high-paced customer service environment or referral experience within the medical field required
- Medical terminology preferred
- Fluency in English required
- Proficient computer skills including data entry (35 wpm) and experience with Word, Excel, Access
