Referral Specialist - Orthopedics

Complete registration and obtain insurance authorization for new patients, diagnostic testing, and hospital admissions. Verify financial information and update patient insurance data in billing systems as needed. Initiate the referral and authorization process for all services and visits while communicating with the scheduling department to confirm insurance requirements are met. Work closely with nursing and medical staff to facilitate optimal patient care and coordinate with other departments to support upcoming appointments. Provide referral information for other physicians and facilities and communicate effectively with internal and external customers to obtain required authorizations. Maintain punctual attendance and compliance with Orlando Health policies. One year of retail, customer service, or health care experience required.
