Job Summary
Process and close both internal and outside specialty referrals while managing waiting lists for in-house clinics. Schedule patient appointments, send confirmation letters, and make reminder calls 48 hours prior to visits. Liaise with specialists and navigators to address inquiries, ensure clinical protocols are followed, and review doctor's notes for follow-up actions, imaging, or surgery requests. Maintain accurate records in the EMR and referral tracking system, rescheduling patients as needed and notifying primary care providers of compliance issues. Create workflows, train medical assistants and call center staff, and monitor no-show rates to propose improvements. Contact patients regarding pending referrals or diagnostic testing, respond to patient concerns, and submit charity applications to hospitals.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Ability to read and interpret medical records in English
- Previous experience creating work-flows and providing training
- Fulfill immunization and fit for duty regulatory requirements
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times
