Job Summary
Process, schedule, and track referrals to specialists while providing patients with documentation of dates, times, and necessary test preparations. Monitor all scheduled services through completion by handling insurance referrals and prior authorizations for specialty office visits. Manage Medicare, Medicaid, managed care, and private insurer interactions alongside CPT and ICD-10 code utilization. Requires Level 3 English proficiency, an associate degree, and experience in coordination of care or case management. This part-time role offers 20-24 hours weekly with a hybrid schedule option.
Required Qualifications
- Level 3 English
- Experience in coordination of care, case management, or medical referrals
- Knowledge of community resources
- Knowledge of medical office procedures and terminology
- Knowledge of basic arithmetic to make calculations, balance and reconcile figures, and make changes accurately
- Knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, managed care, HMO, band private insurers
- Knowledge of CPT (procedures code) and ICD-10 codes
