Referral Specialist

Manage flow of communications with providers, clinical staff, patients, and external offices via phone, fax, email, and messaging. Assemble patient medical history to complete diagnostic orders, schedule testing, and process referrals per medical instructions. Educate patients on pre-test requirements, referral instructions, and managed care coverage while obtaining prior authorizations as needed. Track tests and referrals until scheduled and connect patients to resources that remove barriers to care. Document concise information in the medical record. Requires high school diploma, one year healthcare experience, and no night or weekend shifts.
