Job Summary
Schedule appointments and handle referrals for patients per provider requests to outside entities, including in-house testing with contracted facilities and specialists. Complete referrals for various insurances, manage emergency and urgent referrals when requested, and receive test reports or letters from specialists to notify providers and alert them of urgent findings. Send pertinent appointment information, contact patients with referral details and specific instructions, and communicate with provider relations representatives regarding concerns or needs. Document referrals, testing requirements, and follow-up procedures on patient medical records while tracking diagnostic tests and reports. Perform efficient and accurate processing of patient visits, including insurance verification, scheduling, and data entry while maintaining positive patient relations.
