Job Summary
Conduct dining service functions by setting tables, stocking buffets, and serving residents while preparing beverages, salads, and desserts according to recipes. Maintain clean, sanitary dining areas through daily cleaning duties, bussing tables, sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and washing dishes. Assist with food preparation, receiving, and storing supplies while ensuring all items are served at proper temperatures and on time. Document food temperatures in HACCP logs, track product usage and waste, and report hazardous conditions or defective equipment to the supervisor immediately. Adhere to safety protocols, infection control procedures, and proper hand washing practices when handling food, waste, and cleaning agents.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to read, understand, and follow recipe instructions, diet orders, resident preference cards, and work assignments
- Willingness to perform routine, repetitive tasks with frequent interruptions
- Must be patient and tolerant with staff, residents, and family members
- Must have or be willing to receive a Hepatitis A vaccine if working within St. Louis County (in accordance with County health regulations)
- Ability to work with chemicals and cleaning agents
- Ability to withstand exposure to temperature and humidity changes, such as entering refrigerated storage areas and working at ovens, ranges, dish-washing machines, and steam tables
- Must be free from infections or diseases
