Referral Coordinator: Temporary Position

Job Summary
Complete all incoming and outgoing referrals, tracking status and reconciling overdue orders in the work queue. Assemble clinical background information, contact insurance companies for prior authorizations, and verify patient appointment dates with external offices. Act as the system navigator for patients with outstanding referrals, ensuring charts are updated with demographics and insurance details while scanning visit documentation into the EHR. Cover various front office positions as needed. Requires high school diploma or GED with three to six months of healthcare or customer service experience, plus knowledge of ICD-10, CPT codes, and medical insurance processes.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- At least three months related experience (e.g., health care setting, customer service, etc.)
- Equivalent combination of education and experience
- Some experience with medical terminology
- Understanding of medical insurance process
- Ability to understand or quickly learn about the differences between and among patients with private insurance, Medicare, Workers' Compensation and self-paying patients
- Proof of identity and legal authority to work in the U.S.

- Bilingual
