Job Summary
Serve as a liaison point of contact between physicians, patients, and specialty departments to ensure timely, accurate, and patient-centered processing of referrals across all specialties. Monitor daily referral queues, verify requirements based on insurance plans and provider preferences, and coordinate incoming and outgoing referrals while obtaining necessary clinical documentation. Communicate effectively with patients regarding referral status and appointment scheduling, track completion in the electronic health record, and ensure compliance with payer requirements for pre-authorizations. Maintain strong working relationships with office staff and external specialty offices while participating in interdepartmental meetings to enhance communication.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Associate or bachelor's degree in healthcare administration
- 5 years of experience in medical office operations or referral coordination
- Three (3) years of healthcare referral experience
- Highly developed organizational skills

- Monday - Saturday schedule
- 8:00 AM - 8:00 PM hours
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree
- Demonstrable experience with prior authorization requirements and referral processes
- Prior use of Cerner electronic medical record
- Experience with Cerner Practice Management module
