Job Summary
Obtain all PA and referral/order authorizations for appointments, including required PT1 form duties. Schedule patient appointments, resolve scheduling conflicts, and ensure timely contact via phone and mail. Close the loop on pending referrals and send pertinent data regarding specialists' appointments and diagnostic imaging to the appropriate offices. Confirm patients are receiving appointment information in a confidential manner while serving as a patient advocate to defend their rights and privacy. Demonstrate flexibility in responding to facility changes and assume accountability for all actions. Requires a high school diploma, one to two years of business or vocational training, or three to five years of equivalent experience. Bilingual or trilingual candidates are preferred.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 1-2 year business/vocational training or 3-5 years equivalent experience
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Basic computer knowledge
- Ability to type 45-55 words per minute
- Previous medical background including good understanding of medical terminology
- Has knowledge to proficiently use the electronic health record
