Job Summary
Coordinate referrals for medical, dental, and behavioral health teams by communicating with patients and outside partners via fax, phone, and computer. Process and track referrals, verify insurance coverage, and gather required information to ensure patients access essential services. This full-time role is located in The Dalles, Oregon, or White Salmon, Washington, with a starting hourly rate of $20. Bilingual candidates in English/Spanish qualify for an additional $0.75 per hour.
Required Qualifications
- Two (2) years of clerical, reception, administrative, or secretarial experience in a medical/dental setting, healthcare insurance organization, or high-volume office environment; or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Knowledge of and compliance with HIPAA and privacy laws
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Knowledge of medical terminology
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team
- Customer service and workplace safety knowledge
- Ability and willingness to work in a dynamic, changing community healthcare environment
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks with competing deadlines
- Ability to meet team and organizational goals with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
- This is a full-time position located at our clinic in either The Dalles, Oregon or White Salmon, Washington
Desired Qualifications
- Bilingual in English/Spanish
- Post-high school education in administrative or office/clerical coursework
- Experience in a clinic (family practice or pediatrics), hospital, or pharmacy setting
- Experience working with low-income or multi-ethnic populations
- Experience with EPIC EMR
